Members sign up to a Code of Conduct and are paid an allowance and can claim expenses for fulfilling their role. These allowances and details of their attendance at meetings are published on this website.
All members have to complete a Register of Interests in which they declare details of their external roles such as sitting on a parish council. If a member of the authority is given a gift or receives hospitality (above a value of £25) in addition to that provided at scheduled meetings they have to declare it. Both the Members' Interests Register and the Register of Hospitality and Gifts can be made available upon request.
Cambridgeshire Police Authority is made up of 17 members. Of which nine are local councillors (seven are nominated by Cambridgeshire County Council, two are nominated by Peterborough Unitary Authority) and eight are independent members chosen from the community.
Most members have a special responsibility for local issues in one of the local policing sectors in the county.
