Cambridgeshire Police Authority is an independent watchdog that is responsible for overseeing the work of Cambridgeshire Constabulary. It makes sure the constabulary operates as efficiently and effectively as possible within the available resources.
It does this through its 17 members who:

  • Hold the chief constable to account
  • Set policing priorities and targets
  • Scrutinise police performance
  • Monitor the police budget
  • Ensure value for money
  • Engage with the public to influence policing delivery

You can visit the Cambridgeshire Constabulary site at www.cambs.police.uk.

Have your say on the People's Priority?

The authority engages with the public each year to help inform the setting of priorities for policing. This also includes identifying a single People's Policing Priority. This year anti-social behaviour, with an emphasis on speeding and parking outside schools, was supported by members of the public. Have we got this right? Click here to share your views.

Find out more about the Local Policing Plan

Members of the authority will be at local panel meetings over the coming months engaging with those there on the Local Policing Plan. The plan sets the policing priorities for the next year. It was published at the end of March. You can find out when a member is in your area by visiting the Public Involvement section of this website and clicking on Your Neighbourhood.
